Charley King/Blue Bell events is simply AMAZING. I couldn’t recommend her more. We recently got married at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu a little less than two weeks ago, and Charley and her team absolutely made our wedding the best day of our lives. Everyone that attended has praised the beauty, fun and flow of our wedding. Charley really brought our vision to life and we were moved to tears by her by the end of the night and the days that followed. When they tell you to expect something to go wrong at your wedding because “it never goes perfectly” would be pleasantly surprised with Charley of Bluebell events. We literally can’t think of one thing that didn’t go as planned. My veil got stuck on the ground as I was walking to my future husband down the aisle, but that is about it. Literally everything went off without a hitch, and everyone else noticed and felt the same. Charley couldn’t have done a better job. We hired her for the entire wedding planning, not just the day of. I highly recommend you do the same.. you won’t regret it. I already miss working with Charley. We miss her!!

I remember the first day we met with Charley, she drove all the way to Studio City to meet with us. During our first sit down, she humored all of our wacky ideas, knew exactly how to make them happen and truly listened to us about what we wanted for our day. If I could say anything about Charley, it would be that she’s a miracle worker. She can take any vision or any dream that you may have for your special day and make it come true. Charley toured several venues with us before we found the perfect one at Sherwood Country Club. Most wedding planners put a cap on how many venues they will tour with you or hours they will meet with you, but that is not Charley’s style. By your wedding day, you’re sad that you won’t have a reason to email her anymore. Charley is extremely responsive to emails and phone calls. Our actual wedding day was absolutely perfect and was beyond gorgeous. By the end I asked her to just start deciding on some of the details (i.e., the way the napkins were folded, what color they were) and I’m glad I did. She has such a great eye. Charley and her team are so good at what they do. Either Charley or one of her team members is with the bride at all times throughout the day – either to help get all the rights photos, reapply lipstick, sew on a button that fell off of a tux, etc. We were able to just enjoy the entire day and not worry about a thing. Charley is amazing. Her team is amazing. Her vendors are amazing. Anyone looking for the perfect day should pick Bluebell Events!

How do you even begin to write a review for someone that gave you the best day of your life?
We were 3 months out from our wedding, and things weren’t working with our original wedding planner. We needed someone to come in very late in the game and pull out a miracle – take over vendor relationships, fill in the missing chunks, and provide a vision for a very complicated wedding.
My husband and I were putting our wedding together piecemeal. Our venue wasn’t actually a venue. We didn’t have a lead caterer – we had four or five food caterers. We needed everything to come together perfectly, but we were behind and overwhelmed. We found Charley and Bluebell in a panic while searching for LGBT friendly planners. Even though Charley had another wedding planned for our day, she assured us she could take on the job and would make it amazing.
Within hours of signing the contact, Charley had reached out to all of our established vendors and organized a walk-through of the venue, something our original planner hadn’t managed to do in a year of work. Charley also began filling in all of the holes we had in the plan – rentals, florists, lighting, etc. She was responsive, flexible, and worked tirelessly to give us the day we envisioned.

Charley was an absolute professional and a pleasure to work with. I’m an artist/sometimes pain in the ass and my husband is a furniture maker so we had very specific aesthetics when it came to our ceremony. We wanted, memorable, unique, warm yet modern, and it had to incorporate traditional Native American culture. She was early and prepared for every face to face, phone, and Skype meeting. She was open to suggestions and offered sage advice. She helped find first rate vendors who were not only good at their job but easy to work with.
I would highly recommend Bluebell Events for your wedding, or other special occasion. As my brother said in his toast “Get ready for the MTV Movie Awards, Oscars, and Super Bowl all wrapped into one fabulous event.” Truly spectacular. Thank you Charley!

Charley and Bluebell Events did a fantastic job from planning to execution. They completely exceeded expectations. The wedding itself was quite a production and went off without a single hitch — something we thought impossible. Charley was everything we wished for and more in a wedding planner! We had to move our wedding 30 days out due to a hurricane and Charley did the most fabulous (and calm) job of re-planning the whole thing. She was beyond lovely to work with and dealt with our craziness like it was nothing. On top of planning the whole wedding perfectly, she also planned a 120 person rehearsal dinner at a private estate where everything had to be thought of and brought in. Charley is extremely talented at thinking of everything possible and handing everyone wonderfully. #MadKaped was beautiful and perfect thanks to her. We even felt she’d done so much beyond her fee that we sent her a bonus. Charley’s team was awesome as well. Through the whole process we were thrilled with our decision to hire Charley!! Words fail to describe what an amazing wedding planner Charley is. She is surely an angel. As future brides will soon learn, planning your wedding is a very special process and a long journey. This is like no other event you will ever plan. You will care so much about each and every decision and detail. Charley will be by your side for all of it – as a friend, a confidante, and a brilliant planner. Her vendors are outstanding. She knows everything there is to know about weddings. She will have answers to all your questions and will support you through every detail of your wedding planning process. At the end of the day, you will have a fairy tale wedding and you will have learned that Charley knows everything and is always right (even though she will be so kind and gracious all the times that you insist on your way…only to learn that Charley was right all along and you need her to go back and change everything back to what she suggested in the first place). On the day of your wedding, you need patient, kind, calm people at your side – and her team is amazing. Of course she is spectacular – but so is everyone with whom she works. She will attend to every detail, she will go the extra mile, she will do 100X more than you expect. At the end of everything, I told Charley I thought her fee should have been 3x what she charged us given everything she did. She is, in short, a wedding angel. She is the best in the business. Any bride who can sign Charley is lucky indeed.
